Is Cashi a real operating service?
Yes in the narrow, verifiable sense that Cashi has a live app, public Terms and Privacy Policy, a functioning virtual Visa card program and official iOS/Android listings. Cashi Ltd. is identified in the Terms as a Hong Kong company. For Canadian money-services functions, the Terms identify GBP Payments Corp. as a FINTRAC-registered affiliate.
That does not mean Cashi is risk-free or equivalent to a bank account. The Terms describe a custodial digital-asset wallet, reliance on third-party partners, service-interruption risk and no government deposit protection for supported digital assets.
Who actually provides the card and regulated services?
The Terms say the Cashi card is issued by a third-party card issuing partner and runs on the Visa network. Cashi also relies on partners for payment processing, fiat ramps, identity verification, blockchain analytics and other services. The current public Terms do not name every card-program partner on the page, so we do not fill in missing names from speculation.
How custody works
Supported assets in the Custodial Wallet remain the user's property under the Terms, while Cashi may hold assets in omnibus wallets and track individual entitlements on its internal ledger. Cashi says it will not lend, pledge or rehypothecate supported assets for its own account. Users should still understand that this is a custodial model with operational and partner risk.
Practical due diligence before using Cashi
Check that your country is eligible in the app, finish KYC, read the current fee/limit screen, send a small test deposit on the exact supported network, and avoid keeping more value in any spending wallet than you need. Cashi is still in Public Beta, so product behavior and partner availability can change.

Is Cashi legit?
Cashi is a live operating service with public legal documents, official app-store listings and a virtual Visa card program. That is different from saying it is risk-free or bank-insured.
Is Cashi a bank?
No. Cashi describes itself as providing technology and digital-asset services, while regulated/card/fiat components can be delivered by third-party partners or affiliates.
Are Cashi balances government insured?
No. The Terms state that supported digital assets are not deposits and are not protected by a government deposit-protection or compensation scheme.
Who owns Cashi?
The current Terms identify Cashi Ltd., a Hong Kong company, as the main contracting entity. The Terms also identify GBP Payments Corp. as a FINTRAC-registered affiliate for Canadian money-services functions.
Does Cashi custody my crypto?
Yes. The Terms describe a Custodial Wallet. Assets may be held in omnibus wallets while user entitlements are tracked on Cashi's internal ledger.

Who operates Cashi and who powers the card?
Current Terms name Hong Kong-incorporated Cashi Ltd as the contracting entity. Cashi's Privacy Policy also identifies GBP Payments Corp as a FINTRAC-registered MSB handling certain regulated functions for Canadian residents. Separately, Thredd announced on August 11, 2026 that it powers Cashi's card programme as the issuer processing platform.
That does not mean Thredd should be described as the issuing bank. CryptoCardLAB keeps the roles separate unless a primary source identifies the issuer directly.
